Biography

Francesco de Paola was born at Lipari, Provincia di Messina, Kingdom of Sicily, about 1615, son of Tommaso de Paola and Giovanna Incolla. He was buried at Lipari, 23 August 1690, aged about 70: "Fran.cus de Paola, filius qm Thome de Paola et Joanelle Incolla etatis sue annora 70 circitae."[1] He married at Lipari, about 1643, Lucretia Ventrici, who was baptized at Lipari, 30 August 1625, daughter of Limbeni Ventrici and Livia Ristuccia; her sponsor was Marcoantonio Cullosi.[2] She died in 1710, after August.[3]

Lipari, 9 April 1660, dau. of Antonino Licciardo of terre Pilaino and Francesca Lumbardo; sponsor was Mariano L'Ambrosa. On 15 Dec. 1679, a decision was reached in the case of Francischellae Licciardo and Thomasum De Paula, accused of having sexual relations before promised marriage.[7]
  4. Giuseppe de Paola, b. ca. 1649; m. Rosalia Natoli, dau. of Geronimo Natoli.
  5. Giovanni de Paola, bap. 1 July 1651; sponsor was Francesco Russo di Placido. He was bur. Lipari, 15 8bre (Oct.) 1672, ae. 18 [sic].
  6. Calogera de Paola, bap. 31 July 1653; sponsor was Giovanni Conti. She was bur. Lipari, 9 April 1654, ae. 5 mos. [sic].

  12. Gratia de Paola, bap. 12 7bre (Sept.) 1666; sponsor was Giovanni LoScavo di Matteo. She was bur. Lipari, 1 July 1671, ae. 5 [sic].
  13. Diego Ignatio de Paola, bap. 26 Feb. 1668; sponsor was Notaio Giovanni Benenato. Reverendo Don Ignatio de Paola was a priest.
